Mother’s Day Memory

In honor of Mother’sπŸ’„ πŸ’‹ πŸ‘© 🧀 πŸ₯Ώ πŸ‘’ πŸ‘‘ πŸ₯§ Day arriving shortly- I want to tell a sweet πŸ‘§ daughter story. Back in ’85 or ’86 we were camping πŸ•πŸ¦Ÿ 🐜 🦝 🐿 πŸŒ™ 🌠 our way to Canandaigua, NY to see my πŸ§“ Daddy in a VA medical center. The night before we were due to arrive the next day at the center, we opted to stay in a beautiful Bed πŸ› and Breakfast🍳 πŸ₯― πŸ₯› 🍽 , sadly I do not remember the name only that is was very close to a ski πŸ‚ resort. We had booked one room for the 4 πŸ§” πŸ‘©β€πŸ¦° πŸ‘§ πŸ‘¦ of us. Upon arrival and having our luggage accessible, we took our luggage with us to check in. All of us had a small over night bag πŸ‘œ πŸ’Ό πŸŽ’ 🧳and our own pillows. Both kids had a fav blanket and plush 🧸 🧸 animal. The Inn Keeper told us we were her only guest that for the night so she gave the kids their own room and led us to ours. Since it was early evening, we went out for dinner and then took a walk around her beautiful property.

We each prepped for bedtime then JM and I went in to each of the kids for tuck in and prayers. We discussed (like always), the plans for the upcoming day and our expectations for their behavior and answered any questions. They had not seen their πŸ§“ Grandfather in declining health or in a ♿️ wheelchair before so I wanted them to feel as comfortable and to be as supportive as they could. We told them when breakfast 🍳 πŸ₯― πŸ₯› 🍽 would be πŸ•˜ and went back to our room.

The next morning, 2 πŸ§” πŸ‘©β€πŸ¦° of us but only 1 kid πŸ‘¦ were at the table at the requested time πŸ•˜ . I excused myself and went looking for the late one, our πŸ‘§ daughter. I found her still in πŸ› bed. She has been up, washed her face, brushed her teeth and hair, made her πŸ› bed and crawled back in. She was sitting up in bed, pretty as a πŸ‘‘ Princess in her nightie on her fluffed pillows and perfectly wrinkle free bed. The blanket and top sheet were perfectly folded across her lap. Needless to say I was shocked, I figured I would at least find her tying her πŸ‘Ÿ πŸ‘Ÿ shoes. I asked her why she was not πŸ‘šπŸ‘–πŸ§’πŸ•Άdressed and at 🍳 πŸ₯― πŸ₯› 🍽 breakfast with the rest of us. She did the fingering β€œrequest you come here” gesture, so I went over to her and leaned down. She leaned forward and whispered (I think as not to embarrass me), β€œMom, this is a breakfast 🍳 πŸ₯― πŸ₯› 🍽 IN bed πŸ› place.”

How can you just not melt??!! I went to ask the Inn keeper if indeed we could make that happen for her and she did. (I don’t remember pictures being taken)

Never understand estimate what kids hear πŸ‘‚πŸ§ and then perceive 🧠= 🏑 🍳
